Project Description: The Fresh Air Fund

The Fresh Air Fund, a nonprofit organization that sends thousands of children from underprivileged neighborhoods across New York City on free summer vacations, sought to expand its outreach efforts to immigrant communities that fit its qualification criteria. New immigrants from China were readily identified as a demographic that would stand to benefit from the free programs the Fund offered. However, it would not be possible to target this demographic without a comprehensive outreach plan, which included the production of translated promotional materials about the programs. The translations provided by Lei have been widely circulated among dozens of New York City schools, and Fresh Air Fund partner agencies.
